Irene B. Smith, nee Jennings

Irene B. Smith, nee Jennings, 82, of Mt. Prospect passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 10, 2015, surrounded by her family.

Irene was an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect for many years.

Irene was the loving wife of the late Richard Smith for 49 years.  The beloved mother of Lisa McClurg, Jay (Diane) Smith, Karyn (Raymond) Byrne, Richard, and Brian (Claire) Smith.  She was the proud grandmother of Paul, and John Smith, Trudee (Chris) Manderfield, Rick (Jordan) Gustafson, Shelby and Chris Byrne, Jacob, Jenna, Hayley, Keith, Jared, Eric, Colin Smith.  Dearest great grandmother of Molly and Amelia Manderfield.  Fond sister of Marilyn Safranek, and the late Ronald Jennings.  Aunt, cousin and dear friend of many.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, from 3-9 P.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Hghwy) Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.  Lying in state at 9 A.M. until mass at 10 A.M. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 700 S. Meier Rd, Mt. Prospect, IL, 60056.  Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Irene’s name to St. Cecilia Catholic Church and mailed to 700 S. Meier Rd, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.
